ARTIFACTS OF ORENDA (2023)

Concerned with objects and their world-building memory holding properties, a cabinet of curiosities styled artifact display tells the story of a long-forgotten fantasy world named Orenda. Throughout Orenda's five districts, its inhabitants have a deep-rooted magical history, and the object presented encapsulates its story. Displayed alongside the artifact wall is a selection of briefly translated papers explaining the artifacts and their histories.

Influenced by the fantasy and sci-fi genre, this work explores both themes whilst playing with the concept of galleries, poking fun at the traditional museum standard artefact displays. The intricate invented history integrates questions surrounding long standing societies, and raises questions on the very aspects of being human.
